ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
We welcome you to join the Interdisciplinary Conference on Marine Litter and Education for the Prevention of Marine Litter, taking place in Split November 4-6, 2024.
Objectives of the conference:

raising awareness among institutions and organizations about marine litter and its prevention, implementing recommendations and measures for shaping and improving legislative frameworks in sustainable waste management;

educating, strengthening skills and encouraging active participation of young people, local and other stakeholders in the fight against marine litter addressing the impact of plastic pollution on the marine environment and advocating for the reduction of plastic use;

building a network of educational institutions and organizations, both public and private, in the Adriatic Sea coastal area, centered on active participation in advocating for sustainable waste management.
The Marine Litter-Free Tides of Change conference is organized as part of the Marine Litter-Free Adriatic Sea – Education for Active Youth Participation and Plastic-Free Croatian Island projects.
The lead partner of the ML-FREE project is the Association for Nature, Environment and Sustainable Development Sunce, while the partners are: Marco Polo High School Liceo Artistico Venezia and School of Economics and Administration Split.
The results of the project, research analysis, and examples of good practice in the field of waste management with an emphasis on marine litter will be presented through lectures and panel discussions at the conference.
